Particularly noteworthy is the [ Künstlerdorf Waldhäuser.[57509]] the town Forest Houses -to which Neuschönau belongs - is at 1000 meters the higest mountain village in the Bavarian Forest. Since Since Waldhäuser has always been a place for artists who are looking for something special and recognize that Heinz Theuerjahr, Hajo Blach und Reihnhold Koeppel are ony a few of the well known artists who have lived in the Bavarian Forest houses.

[ the International Nature and Animal Film Festival[57508]], is not only popular with film makers but each year attracts thousands of visitors to the Nationalparkregion. In the [ Hans-Eisenmann House in Neuschönau[57510]] and at various Open-Air screens are shown Nature and Animal films from renowned filmmakers , sown as Films by Young Artists. Especially gratifying is that Filmemackers from all over the world take the time, and their films personally to show at the Film Festival . This is always a special experience for all movie fans.
