Bavarian Forest National Park

Most of the facilities in the Bavarian Forest National Park you can reach comfortably and directly starting from Neuschönau.

Hiking area through the rocks (3km from Neuschönau)

A very interesting hiking area where you can experience impressing formations of large rocks.It takes about 1 1/2 hour to walk throught this area.

Moutain Rachel (1453m) (15 km from Neuschönau)

If you want to walk on the mountain Rachel you should take about 3-4 hours time. This hiking way is demanding so one should have some endurance.

Childs' playground in the forest nearby Spiegelau (10 km away from Neuschönau)

On this playground kids can learn a lot about nature, forest, animals while they are playing directly in the forest. Very interesting - not only for the kids!

"Haus zur Wildnis" - Infozentrum (ca. 40 km entfernt)

The "Haus zur Wildnis" (House of Wilderness) you find in Ludwigsthal nearby Zwiesel.
In this house you can find many information about the whole Bavarian Forest National Park.

Animals area 2 in Ludwigsthal(ca. 40 km entfernt)

Directly next to House of Wilderness starts the hiking way through the second animals area in the Bavarian Forest National Park. Her you find lynx, wolves, wild horses etc.
